Currently masquarading as "Fedallah" on afo, I was born in Colorado in 1973 (too lazy to update my age here, even if it is just once a year.) Although I've lived in several states, Colorado still remains the place I hope to call a real "home" before too long. There's a magic in those mountains and high peaks that can't be denied.

While frustratedly bouncing in and out of the academy (seeking/not seeking degrees in philosophy and physics, thinking now I'll settle for a law degree) I've turned back to writing, and am finally taking my fiction writing seriously enough to start seeking publication. I've had several non-fiction pieces published in journals and a couple of books, but that is somehow much less gratifying.

On a personal level, I'm an avant-garde Jazz enthusiast, go backpacking whenever time allows, and have been training in various Malaysian and Filipino martial arts systems since 1994 or so.

While I don't think I'll ever get over my childhood attachment to JRR Tolkien, I'd say that Borges, Dostoevsky, Kafka and Beckett are the richest sources of literary pleasure for me, with Dr. Seuss making an occasional appearance. I also have an abiding fascination with ancient Gnosticism that occaisonally rears its head in my fiction, usually to poor effect.
