He had a typical childhood: attending school, engaging in sports, joining the Cub Scouts, playing doctor with the girl next door. He attended a typical high school and a typical college, joined a typical branch of the US Armed Forces, and served in a typical overseas US war. He has held a number of typical jobs: Physics instructor, short-order cook, electronics technician, soda jerk, sea-monster on a children's TV show, Candle-and-Christmas shop manager, writer of post-Chernobyl Severe Accident Management procedures, toy store salesclerk, and Reactor operator. He has led a typical, middle-class American life and has spent Very Little Time in jail. His favorite pastimes include doing as little as possible and searching for alternate sources of entropy. He writes short fiction to still the voices in his head. Docfarquar hides in rural Southern Maryland with his four cats: Lugnut, Landfill, Fanbelt, and Chainsaw.
