Darren Greer

Darren Greer  was born in 1968 in Nova Scotia, Canada. His short fiction and journalism has appeared in  magazines across Canada and the United States, including  The University Of Ottawa Literary Journal, Fax Magazine, Authors, Pandora's Box, Capital Xtra, the Ottawa Citizen, the Danforth Review and Anacoenesis. His plays have been produced across the country and his work broadcast on CBC national Radio.

Darren's first novel, Tyler's Cape, was released by Algonquin Press in March 2001 to much critical acclaim and placement on the Canadian best-sellers lists. A second edition was issued by Cormorant Books in June of 2003.  

Darren's second novel, Still Life with June,  was released in hard-cover by Cormorant Books in the spring of 2003. It was nominated for the Pearson Canada Reader's Choice Book Award, a ReLit Award and was one of NOW Magazine's Top Ten Books in Canada for 2003. The U.S. version of Still Life with June will be released from St. Martin's Press in January of 2005. A book of essays, entitled Strange Ghosts, is due out in Canada in the fall of 2004.  Darren lives in Toronto with two cats, a hound dog, and his partner Brian, and is currently at work on a new book.
