Brent Barron (BBSting120)

For anyone who wants to actually take time and read about ME, here's a little info:

My name is Brent Barron. I live in Georgia with my mom, dad, two brothers, and our Chihuahua, Buddy. I'm eighteen and a senior in high school, though I'll be graduating VERY soon (praise God). Compared with the rest of this group, I think that makes me pretty young. While I may be less experienced I certainly think I'm on the right track in my writing.

My future plans consist of going to college (University of Georgia, in my home state) and majoring in journalism. I don't plan ahead that much, so... that's all I have for now. I'll get back to you when I actually decide what to do after that point.

Aside from writing I like...

Books! I read A LOT. I read in my freetime and also in all those inbetween times in school when I don't feel like learning. I like to read a lot of classical fiction, but some of my favorite modern authors would have to be--Dean Koontz, John Irving, Anne Rice... umn, I'm drawing a blank. I read just about everything though.

I watch a lot of TV and movies, too. I'll admit... i've become addicted to some of the reality television trash. I know it's stupid, but I can't help myself! Oh, and my FAVORITE shows--twenty-four and Alias. I don't know my favorite movies really. I really like suspense and drama.. and a good comedy. Vanilla Sky, Gosford Park, 13 conversations about one thing, Zoolander, Best in Show, Les Miserables, Moulin Rouge, and Chicago are just a few of my all-time favorites.

I'm currently writing a play (it's a comedy) for a local theater company. If all goes as planned, i'll be directing it for them next spring. *crosses fingers*

Music is one of the biggest parts of my life. I listen to a little bit of everything, but no matter what, I'm almost always listening to something. I'm a big fan of Third Eye Blind, Jimmy Eat World, Jason Mraz, Dave Mathews, Evanescence, John Mayer, REM, Maroon Five (white boy soul!), Oasis--the list goes on and on. My tastes are quite varied. The only music I don't like at all is Country. Oh, the twang!

Job-wise, I've only had a few, and none of them have been very good. I've been a janitor (Picking up trash is somehow associated with doing something bad. I often was asked, "Where's your orange jacket?"), I've worked in the construction business over the summer, renovating old houses and what not, and then I've done some maintenence. Do you sense a trend? When I get a job that requires me to simply stand there and mash in buttons, I don't think I'll quite know what to do with myself.

Well, that's about all that I can think of. I hope your life is more enriched after having read this. Heh. That's funny.
